  • Are students who do not reside in the Graham District eligable to become students in the Graham Digital Academy?

Students who do not reside in the Graham District are eligable for enrollment in the A.B. Graham Academy, a state-wide charter school.
Contact the school at 937-663-0370 or email Scott Howell A.B.G.A Superindendent at howells@abga.cs.k12.oh.us or A.B.G.APrincipal Marcia Ward at wardma@abga.cs.k12.oh.us.

  • Where do students go online to complete the lessons?

Students may access their class virtually from the computers at the library, in the GDA lab at the Media Center at GHS and/or at the A.B.G.A lab at the Graham Board Office! Once a student is trained they will receive a login name and password that will allow entry into the system. A.B.G.A has a closed system therefore students find their class work is shown within the body of the assignment or they will be assigned specific websites to access.
Singleton students do not receive computers from A.B.G.A. Computers and printers/scanners are provided for full time students only.

  • Is the A.B.G.A Lab open all summer?

No! The Lab is closed in the summer except for training in July for Singleton Students. The A.B.G.A lab is open when Graham Local Schools are in session from August to June. The Lab is open from 7:40 – 3:30 each day.

  • How do you take Physical Education online?

Physical Education online is a .5 credit course. At GHS you must take two .25 credit PE classes. The A.B.G.A PE class is .5 credits therefore one PE class at A.B.G.A will fulfill the Graham Local Schools requirement.
The online PE course is offered in six Blocks of Instruction. Each Block usually takes approximately three weeks to complete
( 15 days), assuming the student works Monday through Friday! Students must log 60 hours of physical activity on a record sheet and complete six reports. Report lengths vary. There may be a report on your "favorite" sport or your "favorite" athlete.
Students may not begin to count their activity hours until AFTER they are trained. Summer band camp, summer soccer, biking, swimming, etc. all count for activity hours. A responsible adult must sign off on the hours: Mr. Buell, a coach, your teacher, your parents, or Mrs. Ward.
If you go on vacation while you are in PE during the summer, you may count summer activities you complete on vacation. This will be explained during summer orientation that is held in July at the A.B.G.A Lab.

  • How long will it take for the online teacher to assess work, open blocks of instruction, and return email?

Online teachers attempt to grade all work within three days of receiving an assignment. This is USUALLY the case, but not always!
Teachers are online at least five hours daily. They will share their schedule with you and usually respond within one – four hours if they are online. Most teachers are very diligent about responding to the need of a student. Mrs. Ward’s computer is on until midnight each evening and she will respond as well.

The virtual student must be focused and accountable. A diploma from the A.B. Graham Academy is a valid diploma that is recognized in the State of Ohio as authentic and credible.
